Fast-growing, spicy microradishes add a punch of flavor, a satisfying crunch, and surprising health benefits to your dishes, especially for digestive and heart health.

Radish microgreens sprout and grow quickly (usually ready in just 5-7 days) and add a peppery, crunchy flavor to any dish.

These tiny greens are packed with nutrients that support digestion, circulation, and overall health. If you enjoy growing them at home, they’re one of the quickest and most satisfying microgreens to grow – perfect for beginners.

Key Nutritional Benefits

Vitamin C: Immune and collagen support

Folate: Cell repair and heart health

Anthocyanins and polyphenols: Powerful antioxidants

Potassium: Blood pressure regulation

Fiber: Stomach and digestive support

They also contain glucosinolates, natural compounds known to aid detox and support metabolic health.

Health Benefits & Research

Supports healthy digestion: Their fiber and enzymes can help improve intestinal motility and nutrient absorption.

Supports circulation: They are rich in antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support heart health.

Detox and liver support: Glucosinolates found in radishes have been shown to support liver enzyme activity.

Blood sugar regulation: New studies suggest they may help moderate post-meal blood sugar spikes.

Antioxidant content is particularly concentrated in the microgreens stage; some estimates suggest it’s up to 40 times higher than in mature radish roots.

How to Grow Radish Microgreens (Soil & Hydroponic)

Radish is a fast and rewarding plant. Under ideal planting conditions, it will be ready to harvest in as little as one week.

  • Fill your tray with 3-4 cm of moist potting soil or coco coir.
  • Scatter the radish seeds evenly; there’s no need to soak them beforehand.
  • Tamp them lightly, rewet them with a spray bottle, and cover them for 2 days (the blackening and pressing phase).
  • Remove the cover and expose them to bright, indirect sunlight or a grow light.
  • Spray or water them from the bottom 1-2 times a day. Harvest around 5-7 days.

Hydroponics tip: Use a growing mat (hemp, cellulose, or coco coir) in a shallow tray with enough water to touch the roots. Avoid overwatering.
