To freeze and store freshly purchased asparagus for a long time without losing its color and texture, follow the methods below.
Choosing the Asparagus
Fresh, firm, green asparagus performs best when frozen.
Preparation
Cut off the tough parts of the asparagus. You will get the best results by breaking it from the base of the plant where you can break it with your hand. Wash the asparagus thoroughly and dry it completely.
Cut into pieces of appropriate size for freezing.
Blanching
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the asparagus to the boiling water and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Quickly dip the boiled asparagus into a bowl of ice cold water to stop the asparagus from cooking. This method is called "blanching."

Dry the vegetables with a towel.
Place the dried asparagus in freezer bags or airtight storage containers and place them on the fast-freezing shelf of your deep freezer or in the freezer if you have one.
You can consume the asparagus you have stored with this method without losing its color and fresh taste.
